Great alt-travel blog, The Locales brilliantly leverages local guides and country experts to bring a fresh perspective to many travel destinations. Founder, Weston Moody has posted audio travle-guides and travel advice about subjects such as budget travel, kayaking in Angola, and visting remote areas of the Nepalese Himalayas. The Locales goal is to empower people to become global citizens. Weston recently approached Semantica in search of perspectives on living in Brazil and learning Portuguese.
I like their mission statement:
OUR VISION IS A WORLD WHERE WE VALUE DIFFERENT CULTURES, UNDERSTAND GLOBAL ISSUES AND CREATE POSITIVE CHANGE IN COMMUNITIES ALL OVER THE WORLD.
The Semantica (James Hall) interview is posted here.
In it I talk about my personal journey moving to Brazil culture and discoveries/lessons along the way.
