using the verb PARAR with de

You always need to place an “de” right after the verb PARAR and a verb that follows. It’s a rule.

When paired with de, parar + de can be used to say, “Stop xxx”.

Para de falar. (Stop talking.)

Eu vou parar de fumar. (I'm going to stop smoking.)

Ele parou de chorar. (He stopped crying.)

Always like this: parar + de + verb (infinitive).
