Also known as the future indicative or future of the present, this tense is mainly used in formal writing, such as legal documents and news articles. In everyday conversation, Brazilians often replace it with alternative forms like “vai + infinitive”, but some specific future-tense conjugations have found their way into everyday conversational Portuguese.
-ar ~er ~ir ending verbs all take the same form:
- Eu trabalharei. ➜ I will work.
- Ela trabalhará ➜ She will work.
- Nós trabalharemos. ➜ We will work.
- Eles trabalharão. ➜ They will work.

eu ➜ Eu trabalharei para corrigir tudo. I will work to fix everything.
você|ele|ela ➜ Ela trabalhará até o termina. She will work until it is finished.
nós ➜ Nós trabalharemos para fazer tudo certo. We will work to make everything right.
vocês|eles|elas ➜ Eles Trabalharão para corrigir tudo. They will work to fix everything.
The few verbs retain their future forms in everyday conversation.
será (SER) ➜ Isso será difícil. This will be difficult.
iremos (IR) ➜ Iremos viajar amanhã. We will travel tomorrow.
haverá (HAVER) ➜ Haverá uma reunião às três. There will be a meeting at 3:00.
estarei (ESTAR) ➜ Amanhã estarei em casa. Tomorrow, I will be home
poderá (PODER) ➜ Ela poderá te ajudar. She will be able to help you.
