As Músicas is a collection of sing-along experiments with Brazilian MPB (Música Brasileira Popular). We took 3 modern classics and recorded them live atop Morro do Cantagalo -- a favela in Rio de Janeiro.
Using songs to learn the language is powerful. But it can also lead you down dead-end roads as so many songs use poetry and expressions that you won't ever use in a normal conversation. We've chose three that have plenty of lyrics that you can use to build on:
- Malandragem
- Garganta
- Não me deixe só
Performed by Bruna and Pedro. All are subtitled in big type. We will do more of these in the future. We hope to build this into a real learning format with break-down and pronunciation practice!
